1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Aegis, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. Your continued use after any modification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Nature of the Service
Aegis is a software automation tool — not a broker, exchange, DEX, custodian, money transmitter, or registered investment adviser. It is operated by an individual, not a company or financial institution.
Non-custodial: Aegis never receives, holds, controls, or transfers user funds. Your funds remain at all times in your own exchange account or on-chain wallet. The operator has no access to your capital.
Non-discretionary: The bots execute exclusively according to the configuration you define. The operator does not make trading decisions on your behalf, exercise discretion over your positions, or act as a portfolio manager or adviser.
Not investment advice: Nothing in Aegis constitutes investment advice, financial advice, or any recommendation to trade. You are solely responsible for your configuration choices, capital allocation, and trading outcomes.
Closed beta (invite-only): Aegis is currently in a closed beta phase accessible only by invitation. Access is not open to the general public. No subscription fees, trading commissions, or performance fees are charged during the beta phase. See Section 9 for details.
User responsibility: You are solely responsible for your API keys, your bot configuration, your capital, and all trading decisions and results.
3. Description of Service
Aegis is an automated hedging and execution platform for decentralized and centralized finance venues. It monitors your liquidity positions and executes pre-configured strategies on your behalf using API keys you provide. Aegis does not custody user funds. You retain full custody of your wallets and exchange accounts at all times. Aegis never holds, controls, or requests your wallet private keys or seed phrases.
4. API Key Requirements and Security
To use Aegis with centralized exchanges, you must provide API keys. You are responsible for configuring the correct permissions when creating those keys. Use a dedicated API key created exclusively for Aegis — do not reuse keys shared with other services.
API key permission matrix:
| Permission | Status | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Read account info (balances, positions, orders) | ✅ ALLOWED | Required for monitoring |
| Spot trading (open/close) | ✅ ALLOWED | Required for hedge execution |
| Futures trading (open/close shorts) | ✅ ALLOWED | Required for perp hedging |
| Withdraw funds | ❌ PROHIBITED | Must be disabled when creating the key |
| Internal transfers (sub-accounts) | ❌ PROHIBITED | Must be disabled when creating the key |
| Bank/fiat operations | ❌ PROHIBITED | Must be disabled when creating the key |
Aegis does NOT request or use withdrawal, transfer, or fiat permissions. You MUST create your API keys without those permissions enabled. Aegis does not technically verify at ingestion time whether your API key has withdrawal permission enabled or not — disabling withdrawal and transfer permissions is a requirement on the user, not a system-enforced restriction. You must configure this yourself when creating the key in your exchange. Aegis only uses your key for trading operations (read positions, open/close orders).
API keys are stored encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. The encryption key never leaves the backend and is managed separately from the encrypted data. We recommend:
- Enabling IP whitelist on your exchange API key, restricting access to Aegis infrastructure IP addresses.
- Using a dedicated API key created exclusively for Aegis.
- Rotating your API key periodically and immediately if you suspect it has been exposed.
5. Wallet Keys and DeFi Self-Custody
Aegis never requests your seed phrase or private key. For DeFi operations, Aegis may request wallet signatures or on-chain approvals limited to the specific protocols it interacts with. You may revoke any on-chain approval at any time through your wallet interface. Revocation is your responsibility.
6. Eligibility
By accessing or using Aegis, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age and have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts under the laws of your jurisdiction (at least 18 years of age where that is the applicable minimum). Aegis is not directed at, and may not be used by, minors.
If you become aware that a minor has provided personal data to Aegis without appropriate parental or guardian consent, please contact us at [email protected] so that we can delete those records.
7. Acceptable Use
You may not use Aegis to:
- Violate any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
- Engage in market manipulation, wash trading, layering, or spoofing.
- Operate in jurisdictions subject to applicable sanctions programs.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or compromise the platform or its infrastructure.
- Abuse vulnerabilities, circumvent rate limits, or interfere with the platform’s availability.
Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.
8. Account Termination
Aegis may suspend or terminate your account at its discretion for violation of these terms, fraudulent activity, or compliance requirements. You may also close your account at any time. Account deletion is blocked while active strategies or open positions exist in Aegis — Aegis will not automatically close those positions on your behalf. You must archive or pause all active strategies before deletion can proceed. Exchange API keys are revoked from Aegis’s systems upon account closure. You remain solely responsible for any open positions on your exchange accounts.
9. Subscription and Billing
Aegis is free to use during the Beta phase. Post-beta paid tiers and pricing will be announced before any charges are applied. Desk-level accounts and institutional arrangements are negotiated separately. Aegis reserves the right to modify pricing with advance notice. Continued use after a pricing change constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
10. Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aegis and the operator shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform, including trading losses, missed executions, downtime, or data loss. The maximum aggregate liability of Aegis to you for any claims arising from your use of the platform shall not exceed the total subscription fees paid by you in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. During the Beta phase, when no fees are charged, the effective maximum liability is $0.
11. Modifications
We may update these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and an in-app notice at least 7 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by Colombian law. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Colombian courts.
